Orthodox citizens celebrate Epiphany in İstanbul

Must read

Epiphany celebrations were held in the waters of İstanbul’s Golden Horn on Jan. 6, a major religious holiday for Orthodox Christians.

Following tradition, Greek Orthodox swimmer Nicolaos Solis cross retrieved a wooden cross in the Golden Horn as part of Epiphany celebrations held by the nearby St. George’s Cathedral, home of the Fener Orthodox Patriarchate in Istanbul.

Similar celebrations for the Epiphany are held across Istanbul.
