Ten masked Islamists have gone on a rampage, attacking İstanbul University’s faculty of arts and sciences with clubs and declaring that their “fight for Islam” will continue until the end.
A 59-second video clip that was posted on social media shows men in black masks attacking the main hall and furnishings of the faculty and chanting slogans such as “Long live our Islamic struggle” “Allah-u Akbar.”
The incident highlights the growing radicalism in Turkey as it happened only days after an Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) militant murdered 46 people in İstanbul’s popular Reina nightclub. (Turkey Purge)
