A Turkish prankster video-called Israel’s defense minister, Israel Katz, who answered, after which the caller posted a screenshot and Katz’s cellphone number online, Israeli media reported Thursday.
Israeli outlet Mako said a group of hackers from Turkey published the number along with the screen grab from the call.
According to circulating reports, Turkish hackers obtained and released the phone number of Israeli War Minister Israel Katz.

The Times of Israel said Katz then received thousands of abusive messages and death threats, some apparently from automated accounts.
Neither report named the specific group behind the leak.
The Times of Israel added that Katz has used the same number for years despite past leaks.
Katz responded on X by writing in Hebrew that “organized Islamist-jihadist gangs from various countries around the world are calling my unclassified civilian phone and leaving messages of abuse and threats,” adding, “Let them continue to call and threaten, and I will continue to order the elimination of their members, the heads of terror.”
Israeli authorities had not publicly identified the perpetrators of the doxxing as of the time of publication.
