Turkish jobless rate hits 12.1 pct, highest since March 2010

Turkey’s unemployment rate rose from 10.5 percent to 12.1 percent year-on-year in November 2016, the highest figure since March 2010, when it was recorded at 12.8 percent.

The jobless population in Turkey rose by some 590,000 to reach 3.715 million in November 2016, compared to the same month a year ago.

Meanwhile, the youth unemployment rate also surged from 19.1 to 22.6 percent in the same period.
