Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Director Mike Pompeo, who was nominated to the post by the new US President Donald Trump, will pay his first foreign visit to Turkey on Thursday to discuss security issues, according to the state-run Anadolu news agency.
Turkish officials and Pompeo will discuss a number of security issues including the fight against the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant, according to Anadolu.
The US Senate confirmed Pompeo to be President Trump’s CIA director on Jan. 24.
