Turkey’s coronavirus cases reached 156,827 with an increase of 1,141 on Sunday, according to a chart posted on Twitter by Health Minister Fahrettin Koca.
The coronavirus death toll increased by 32 to 4,340, the chart indicated.
Turkey received more than 24,589 test results on Sunday.
Of the confirmed cases, 118,694 are recoveries, while 769 are patients being treated in intensive care.
“The number of recovered patients has reached 120,000. The change in the number of new cases is within an expected margin. The need for intensive care support is gradually declining. The further lessening of the risk is possible through strong measures,” the minister tweeted, calling on everyone to comply with the measures aimed at containing the pandemic.
The government has already eased some of the coronavirus measures imposed in mid-March.
Sunday was the second day of a four-day national lockdown in Turkey that was imposed for the three-day Eid al-Fitr and its eve.
