Turkey’s coronavirus death toll reaches 908, total number of cases 42,282: minister

Turkey’s confirmed cases of coronavirus increased by 4,056 to reach 42,282 in the last 24 hours, and 96 people have died, bringing the death toll to 908, Health Minister Fahrettin Koca announced on Thursday.

The total number of people who have recovered stood at 2,142, and 28,578 tests were conducted over the last 24 hours, according to a chart Koca tweeted.

Turkey’s total confirmed cases totaled 42,282.

The chart showed that a total of 276,338 tests have been conducted in Turkey since the first case of coronavirus was confirmed in the country on March 11.

First seen in the Chinese city of Wuhan, COVID-19 has spread rapidly around the world, infecting over 1,500,000 people worldwide and killing more than 91,000. Some 345,000 people have recovered, according to Worldometers.info.
