Van man arrested for removing Turkish flag on public bus

A man from the eastern province of Van was arrested on Saturday for removing the Turkish flag from the window of a public bus.

E.T. removed the flag during a ride in the Adnan Menderes district of Van. Upon a complaint lodged by fellow passengers, E.T. was detained by the police.

A court arrested him on charges of humiliating the Republic of Turkey and disseminating terrorist propaganda. The court remanded E.T. to pretrial detention.
