Addressing a group of farmers in Ankara on Monday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan called on people not to underestimate the value of farming and shepherding as they were the vocations of the prophets, saying he too is a shepherd, in a veiled reference to managing people.
¨Those who cannot grasp the philosophy and psychology of shepherds cannot manage people. I am a shepherd, too,” said Erdoğan as the large audience applauded him.
In the same speech Erdoğan also slammed the European Union for talking about the suspension of accession talks with Turkey if Ankara reinstates the death penalty.
