According to reports in the Turkish media, a man in Turkey’s southeastern province of Şanlıurfa on Thursday shouted “I am hungry” and set himself on fire in front of the governor’s office in Suruç.
The unidentified man, who is in critical condition, poured gasoline on himself before setting himself on fire, according to eyewitnesses. He is currently undergoing medical treatment at the Mehmet Akif İnan Teaching and Research Hospital.
The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
