Must read

An alleged ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) member, İbrahim Akbel, was detained in the southern province of Adana over holding a placard to protest President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Monday.

“R. Tayyip Erdoğan, I do not give you my blessings,” the placard 51-year-old Akbel held in Adana’s İnönü Park said on the front side. The back side of it also said, “We made you prime minister and [then] the president. What have you done for me?”

Akbel, who said he is an AK Party supporter, added that he held the placard to protest Erdoğan because he was unemployed and could not make his living.

“I am unemployed. I did the donkeywork of AK Party. I asked them for a job but they did not give me one. I am a waiter. They do not make insurance payment to those who work in the service sector. Those whom they make the payment are their relatives,” Akbel told to press members who wanted learn the reason for the protest.

Akbel was detained and sent to the police station for questioning.
