Turkey on Friday condemned Israeli airstrikes on Iran as a violation of international law and urged Israel to halt what it called “aggressive actions” that could escalate tensions across the region.
In a strongly worded statement, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said the Israeli strikes served a “strategic destabilization policy” and warned they could derail diplomatic efforts to resolve the standoff over Iran’s nuclear program.

“Israel must immediately cease its aggressive actions that could lead to broader conflicts,” the ministry said.
The comments came after Israel carried out multiple strikes on Iranian territory amid ongoing negotiations between Tehran and European powers aimed at reviving diplomacy over Iran’s disputed nuclear activities.
“The timing of the strikes, which occurred during intensified negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program, clearly indicates that the Netanyahu government is unwilling to resolve any issue through diplomatic means and does not hesitate to risk regional stability and global peace for its own interests,” the ministry added.
In May, İstanbul hosted a round of talks between Iranian and European officials, which Ankara described at the time as a positive step toward diplomacy.
Turkey also called on the international community to act swiftly.
“We call on the international community to take urgent action to prevent the spread of war,” the statement said.
