Turkey cannot re-export its Russian-made S-400 defense system without Moscow’s permission, Reuters reported on Tuesday, citing the Interfax news agency.
The statement was made by Maria Vorobyova, spokeswoman for Russia’s federal service for military-technical cooperation.
Turkey started taking delivery of the S-400s from Russia in July 2019.
The purchase of the Russian-made system led to tension with the country’s NATO allies, which worried about a potential Russian subterfuge on NATO systems.
The US has warned of sanctions if Turkey deploys the S-400s.
