Turkey announced 1,458 new coronavirus cases on Thursday, bringing the total official number to 193,115, according to a chart posted on Twitter by Health Minister Fahrettin Koca.
While the upward trend continued in the number of new cases per day, the death toll from coronavirus reached 5,046 with an increase of 21 on Thursday.
“There’s a rise in patients in intensive care,” Koca tweeted, adding that the duration of treatment, on the other hand, has been shortened by new techniques.
The number of patients in intensive care has risen from 914 to 941 in the last 24 hours, the chart indicated.
Turkey has conducted more than 3.135 million tests since mid-March, and the ministry has announced 165,706 recoveries.
