Turkey had 30,217 confirmed cases of coronavirus as of Monday, with an increase of 3,148 in the last 24 hours, while the death toll grew by 75 to reach 649, Turkish Health Minister Fahrettin Koca announced on Monday.
According to a chart showing the latest figures posted by Koca on Twitter, 21,400 test results have come in since Sunday, and 1,326 patients have recovered since the onset of the outbreak. Koca said 284 people have been discharged from the hospital since Sunday.
A total of 1,415 patients are in intensive care, and 935 of them have been put on ventilators, according to the chart.
The chart showed that a total of 202,845 tests have been conducted so far in the country since the first case of coronavirus was confirmed by the health minister on March 11.
“The daily number of tests will soon reach 30,000,” Koca tweeted.
First seen in the Chinese city of Wuhan, COVID-19 has spread rapidly around the world, infecting over 1,300,000 people worldwide and killing more than 70,000. Some 275,000 people have recovered, according to Worldometers.info.
