The public approval rating of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan fell to 41.1 percent in February, a Turkish polling company said Thursday, indicating a steady decline since November 2018.

Presidential job approval was at 41.9 percent in January, while disapproval climbed to 51.7 percent, the highest since June 2015.

Erdoğan’s approval rating was around 68 percent immediately after a failed coup in July 2016, according to MetroPOLL.

The latest poll, however, was conducted prior to the most recent Turkish army campaign in Syria during which nearly 60 soldiers were killed in Syrian regime attacks.
