A report drafted by the Confederation of Revolutionary Workers’ Unions (DİSK) has revealed that only three out of 10 women in Turkey were employed in the year 2017, the Diken news website reported on Wednesday.

DİSK drafted the report titled “Women’s Labor Report” based on data from the Turkish Statistics Institute (TurkStat), the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the International Labor Organization (ILO), the Turkish Labor Ministry and the Turkish Employment Agency (İŞKUR).

The report also revealed that women’s participation in the workforce in November 2018 was 29.1 percent, while this figure was 45.9 percent in EU countries and 44.4 percent in OECD countries.

In addition, women’s unemployment in the non-agricultural sector was 18.5 percent, compared to 12.6 percent for men in Turkey, according to the DİSK report.
