A commercial that ran on 41 national TV channels for a Turkish mobile gaming company was discontinued after it was discovered to have been plagiarized, Gazete Duvar reported on Wednesday.

Designed to attract new talent for the company, the video quickly sparked widespread interest on social media.

Then it was revealed to be an exact reproduction of an ad by German carmaker Audi titled “Safety Code,” published in Sweden in 2017.

The company released a statement today on Twitter announcing that they were filing a lawsuit against Medina Turgul DDB, the company responsible for producing the ad.

“We learned along with everyone else that the ad was not original. We are unable to describe our pain and sorrow,” the company said.

“All our communications with the company over the last three months are recorded,” the company said, reiterating its threat of a lawsuit against Medina Turgul DDB.
