Russia’s Gazprom sells its 71 percent share in Turkish Bosphorus Gaz

Russia’s Gazprom sold its 71 percent stake in Turkish company Bosphorus Gaz Corp., the Vestnik Kavkaza news website reported, citing the Turkish company.

The Şen Group, which holds the remaining 29 percent stake in Bosphorus Gaz, bought Gazprom’s shares, according to the companies.

The transaction between Adnan Şen, the general manager of Bosphorus Gaz, and Gazprom was completed on Sept. 21, but the cost of the purchase has not yet been disclosed, the Anadolu news agency reported.

Bosphorus Gaz, established in 2003, is a private Turkish company involved in the importation and distribution of gas. In 2004, Gazprom became its major shareholder.
