30 more people detained in Manisa for ByLock use

Manisa police detained 30 people in operations on Thursday as part of an investigation into users of ByLock, a smart phone application that Turkish authorities believe is a communication tool among followers of the faith-based Gülen movement, accused by the government of being behind a failed coup last year.

According to the state-run Anadolu news agency, suspects include workers in the public sector and businesspeople.

Tens of thousands of people, including civil servants, police officers, soldiers, businessmen and housemakers, have either been dismissed or arrested for using ByLock since a failed coup attempt on July 15, 2016.
