Turkey says military neutralized 89 terrorists in Sinjar, Karakoç

The Turkish military has announced that 89 outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and Kurdish Peoples’ Protection Units (YPG) members were neutralized during operations carried out by the Turkish Air Forces on April 25 against targets in Sinjar, Iraq, and Karakoç, Syria.

According to a statement from the Office of the General Staff, more than 40 terrorists were killed in the camps in the Sinjar Mountains region, while 49, including four high-level militants, died near Mount Karakoç. Over 90 terrorists were injured in the operations.

Following the strikes, clashes erupted on the Syrian border between Turkish forces and the YPG.
28 neutralized on Saturday
The Turkish military also announced that 28 terrorists were neutralized on Saturday during operations in the Adiyaman, Tunceli and Van provinces of Turkey and in the Sinat-Haftaning region of northern Iraq.

On Friday, the Turkish military announced that 11 YPG militants had been killed in retaliation for a rocket attack.

Earlier the Turkish military stated that 11 border posts had been subjected to 13 attacks from areas controlled by the YPG, which is considered a terrorist group by Ankara due to its links to the PKK.
