The German Foreign Ministry has announced that a total of 100 German citizens have been barred from entering Turkey since the beginning of 2017 on the grounds that they pose a threat to public security, according to a report in Deutsche Welle on Friday.

The ministry, however, did not specify how many of the German citizens who were barred from entering Turkey had dual citizenship.

Minister for European Affairs at the German foreign ministry Michael Roth said the federal government of Germany has taken action regarding the German citizens who were barred from entering Turkey and asked Turkish authorities for transparency regarding these citizens and to reconsider their decision.
