Survey reveals support for President Erdoğan at 48.7 percent

A public survey conducted by the Ankara-based polling company Metropoll has revealed that 48.7 percent of Turkish citizens support President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan while 43.1 percent are against him.

Metropoll’s survey, conducted in March, reveals the level of support for politicians in the country. When compared to February, there has been a 1.3 percent decrease in the level of support for Erdoğan.

Among those who favor Erdoğan, 91 percent are Justice and Development Party (AKP) supporters while 20.6 percent are supporters of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP).
The survey also revealed the level of support for AKP leader and Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım at 45.7 percent, a one point increase over February.

When it comes to Republican People’s Party (CHP) Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, the public support for him is at 25.6 percent with a 1.3 percent decrease in comparison to February.

MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli has public support of 32.2 percent with a 0.5 point increase when compared to February, according to the Metropoll survey.
