Deputy PM says Europeans will soon apologize to Turkey

AKP deputy Chairman Numan Kurtulmuş

Turkish Deputy Prime Minister and Justice and Development Party (AKP) government spokesperson Numan Kurtulmuş on Sunday said they are confident that the Europeans will soon be at a point to show respect for and apologize to Turkey, news website t24 reported.

“What happened in Europe yesterday and the day before yesterday was a kind of evil that grew out of enmity for Islam, enmity for Turkey, enmity for foreigners and enmity for [President Recep Tayyip] Erdoğan,” said Kurtulmuş while expressing his reaction to the expulsion of Turkish Minister of Family and Social Policy Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya from the Netherlands and to Dutch police who forcefully dispersed Turkish demonstrators in Rotterdam on Saturday.

“They do not want a strong Turkey, they do not want a Turkey that can lead oppressed nations. Whatever you do, Turkey will lead oppressed nations and end those games.”

Underlining that they have been conveying this message to Europeans in various ways, Kurtulmuş said: “God willing, we’re sure they will soon understand, feel ashamed, fall into line and come to the point where they apologize.”
