Following an attempted suicide bombing in Gaziantep earlier on Tuesday, three terrorists that same evening opened fire on a police patrol car, resulting in the injury of one of the attackers.
Earlier on Tuesday, two suspected terrorists attempted to attack a police station in the southeastern province of Gaziantep, resulting in the death of one of the assailants and the injuring of a police officer, according to a statement from the Gaziantep Governor’s Office.
The second attacker, who was suspected of being a suicide bomber, reportedly fled the area. Police have launched a wide-scale search to apprehend him.
The governor’s office said the police officer was slightly injured.
Ambulances were dispatched to the scene to assist the injured.
Gaziantep has been hit by several terrorist attacks by militants of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) over the past months.
