160 Yemeni patients arrive in Turkey for treatment

AFYONKARAHISAR, TURKEY - DECEMBER 30: 160 Yemeni patients and their 53 companions, within the agreement between Turkey and Yemen, arrive to receive medical treatment at State Hospital of Afyonkarahisar Province of Turkey on December 30, 2016. Canan Tukelay / Anadolu Agency

As part of an agreement between Turkey and Yemen, 160 Yemeni patients and 53 people accompanying them arrived in Turkey on Friday to receive medical treatment at a state hospital in Afyon province.

Meanwhile, official Iranian broadcast company Press TV claimed on the same day that a Turkish plane transported Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) terrorists from Aleppo to Yemen.

Turkey has been fighting against ISIL in northern Syria for well over a hundred days now in an operation named Euphrates Shield.

However, up until this offensive against ISIL, Turkey was widely accused of turning a blind eye to ISIL in order to topple embattled Syrian president Bashar al Assad.

Press TV based its argument on a story published on Yemeni news site Al-Masirah. According to that report, Turkey allegedly evacuated 150 terrorists fighting in Syria after the regime took control of Aleppo.
