Retired military prosecutor warns TSK will stage coup if national unity not maintained

Ahmet Zeki Uçok, a retired military prosecutor with the Air Forces Command, has warned from his personal Twitter account that the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) will stage a military coup if national unity is not maintained in the country.

In a series of messages from his Twitter account on Thursday Üçok wrote: “A process of chaos has been started in the aftermath of the coup attempt [on July 15]. [Turkish] martyrs are coming from the Southeast, Iraq and Syria. There are bloody attacks in cities. There is economic pressure. Let’s get united. The process of chaos has begun. If there is no national unity, the TSK will carry out a coup within the chain of command. ”

According to the retired military prosecutor, chaos in the country and a coup can only be averted through national unity and solidarity.

“If the president cannot maintain unity and solidarity, there will be a coup sooner or later,” Üçok added.

Turkey already survived a military coup attempt on July 15, which claimed the lives of 240 people and injured a thousand others.

Since then, there have been rumors of a second coup attempt.
