During a rant against the European Union on Saturday, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said Turkey might extend a state of emergency that has drawn heavy criticism from the EU while accusing the European Parliament of supporting terrorism.
“What is it to you if Parliament and the government extend the state of emergency?” Erdoğan said in İstanbul while slamming the European Union.
Calling directly on the EP, which voted to freeze EU accession talks with Turkey, Erdoğan said: “You, the European Parliament, aided a terrorist organization. Is the Kurdistan Workers’ Party [PKK] not a terrorist organization? Are you not aware of how you aid and abet it?”
