Nearly 115,000 objections have been filed against government decisions to dismiss people with alleged links to the Gülen movement from state positions, Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım said on Friday.
The government pinned the blame for a July 15 coup attempt in Turkey on the Gülen movement and dismissed more than 105,000 civil servants, with many others suspended from their jobs.
Yıldırım said he finds the number of objections somewhat high, adding that the relevant authorities will look into them.
The government’s crackdown against the movement is not limited only to dismissals as some 34,000 people have been arrested and 72,000 detained over their links to the movement.
Meanwhile, CNN Türk reported on Friday that a new purge is expected in state institutions against alleged followers of the movement over their use of the ByLock phone application, which will leave 56,000 more people unemployed.
According to prosecutors, ByLock is the top communication tool among members of the Gülen movement.
