A high school in Turkey’s Manisa province has named 17 of its classrooms after people who died in a failed coup attempt on July 15.
Manisa Girls İmam Hatip School principal Mehmet Sayın told Turkey’s state-owned Anadolu agency that they have taken the decision to remind future generations of the tragedy of July 15.
Underlining that they will gradually recognize all 240 people killed by the putschists, Sayın said they have placed photos and short biographies next to the entrance of every classroom and the teachers’ room at the school.
Sayın also said they have decorated the corridors of the school with photographs taken on the night of the failed coup.
Turkey survived a military coup attempt on July 15 that killed over 240 people and wounded more than a thousand others.
