Gülen-affiliated dormitory turned into police station after confiscation

FETÖ’NÜN YURDU, KAHRAMANLARIN MEKANI OLUYOR

A private girls’ dormitory in Erzurum that was confiscated by the government as part of an investigation into the Gülen movement has been turned into a police station.

“The dormitory that used to be owned by ‘FETÖ’ was taken over by the government and is now used as a Police Special Forces campus,” Erzurum Governor Seyfettin Azizoğlu told reporters on Thursday.

“FETÖ” is an abbreviation for “Fethullahist Terror Organization,” coined by the government to describe the movement.

The government accuses the Gülen movement of masterminding a July 15 coup attempt, while the movement denies any involvement.

The Turkish government has shut down or taken over some 2,100 schools, dormitories and universities due to their alleged affiliation with the movement since the coup attempt. (Turkey Purge)
